Llama, Llama!

Argentine Llama!

On the way to Humahuaque, we spotted a llama!

Llamas come in many colors, but the majority of Argentine llamas are red.
Solid colored llamas means less sorting of fibers for those working with their wool.

Sra. Carrizo took this opportunity to feed the llama corn.

Most Argentine llamas look like big teddy bears.
They have this type of disposition too.
Most are sweet and easy to handle.

Llamas are raised in Northern Argentina for meat and for fiber. The wool of Argentine llamas is tremendous! It is very dense and very fine. Llamas need hair cuts to stay cool in the summer.

Argentine llamas have a wide chest and thick body style.  They come in many heights.
Compared to other llamas, they are sturdy looking.

What will we learn about next?
You'll find out soon!
Check back often and stay connected!
